ART CLASSES
Discover art classes in Bexley taught by Carol.
Classes run for 10 weeks and range from 8-14 people maximum to allow a personalised and quality tutoring experience.

BOTANICAL ART
Monday: 9:30 - 12:30
Using pencil, colour pencil, pen and watercolour. We will work from life with the occasional photo reference. Seasonal subjects.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience from different
art backgrounds looking to find out more about botanical illustration.
DRAWING
Monday: 13:00 - 16:00
Drawing and shading form, looking at technique and texture and studying drawing skills from both contemporary and old Masters. If you think you can't draw, I will show you how.
Those more experienced will work to a higher level. Graphite and watercolour
pencils with promarker and drawing pens.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience.
DRAWING & PAINTING
Tuesday: 9:30-12:30
Explore, experiment, and learn with a focus on wildlife & flora.
In this class we will approach different subjects through drawing and painting,
Experimenting with different mediums and subjects is very satisfying and an
important process of learning. We will cover colour theory & composition using
watercolour, gouache and soft pastel on a variety of different supports.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience.

MIXED MEDIA
Wednesday: 9:30 - 12:30
In our mixed media class we focus on using the vibrancy of acrylic with acrylic
mediums and a little collage to enhance the painting process.
Focus will be on colour theory, composition and painting technique drawing and painting the portrait, still life and fauna & landscape.
This class is great for beginners and those with more experience as we experiment together and learn new skills.

This course introduces you to the range of skills and techniques required for this
highly specialised expression of art.
Using pencil, colour pencil, pen and watercolour, we work from life with the occasional photo reference.
You will learn about the materials, techniques and equipment used by botanical illustrators, while encouraged to work in your own style.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience from different
art backgrounds looking to find out more about botanical illustration.

WATERCOLOUR & DRAWING
Thursday: 9:30-12:30
Experimenting in the wonderful world of watercolour, this course will start with some of the basic watercolour techniques as well as showing you how to draw different subjects.
There will be a focus on sketching and compositional ideas, teaching you
how to create your own work.
We will use traditional watercolour, drawing pens, a little gouache, with watercolour paper and use less traditional support like canvas to try something a little different with your paints.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with more experience.

PORTRAIT & LIFE DRAWING
Friday: 9:30 - 12:30
Learn the intricacies of drawing portraits & life drawing.
You will cover measurements of the face, tonal values and likeness while using different mediums including pencil, watercolour, acrylic, oil where colour theory will play an important part of creating your painting.
A fantastic discipline that underpins all other drawing practices.

life drawing is covered.
